    Good evening Professor.
I have an interest in animations, and I hope I could get to learn it in class.

I also have a few questions for the panoramic picture project that is due this Saturday.
Is it acceptable if there were people or moving objects in the pictures?
Can the pictures be taken in a landscape or portrait orientation?
When taking panoramic photos, do I just turn my body slowly to take pictures?
Should the photo overlap be around 30%?

    • Go Ask Alice says:

Hi David, Glad to hear you’re interested in animation. It’s a lot of fun. You can have people in your panorama, but be careful, about moving objects…you may get some funny distorted results. It is better to take the pics in Landscape mode, but you can experiment with this. Turn your body only after taking a picture, and turn it in a very small degree. Of course it is much better to use a tripod, if you have that available. The photos only need to have a 25% overlap or less, as long as there is some.

Hi Alice. I have an earache and my throat is nearly closed up. I do not want to miss class but I want to know if you think I’d be okay doing this assignment from home, as I don’t want to infect anybody and I can barely move…?

    Hi Professor,
Are we allowed to turn in late projects or extra credit ones we did in class?

I have a bad habit of saving projects on my USB drive and find out later that I didn’t turn it in. 😦
I realized I may have forgotten to turn them into the folders and I am planning to turn all the ones we did in class and projects for this Saturday class.

    Hello Alice,m

Q1> My question is for Lesson #1 P 24 – 25; I am running CS6 and am repeatedly getting stuck on Setp 7-8 and cannot proceed correctly to step 9. I get a ringing bell each time from Photoshop and cannot compelete the lesson properly. I plan to also discuss this with you in class on Saturday 2/8 to hopefully get a work around.

Q2. Tried to do the Panorama assignement outside of class as per your email and in CS6 and found that I cannot finalize Step 2. and incorporate Geometric Distortion Correction as it is not available in my CS6 package. Do you have a workaround for this issue so I can complete this assignment?

    Best Regards,

    Emily Pittaway

  17. I found this to be a fairly simple special effect, but it looks pretty sweet. It would be good for creating some interesting photos for friends or family, and it could be used as a way to promote a product. I really like the idea of water reflection, but I think I could make some additional changes using the warp too to make this even more advanced. Anyway, here is the link: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/water-reflection/

Making a web page is something that should have been fairly easy for me, but the first web page I made had a template that was too difficult to revise. I wanted to change text and links, but I had no luck doing either of these, so I went back to an old webpage that I had a long time ago. It’s not a wonderful layout, but it’s a start to showcase some of the things I’ve accomplished as a student at golden west. However, I feel that I still need my own devoted website, so I will probably move everything over once I am no longer so involved in school. Here is my site, for those who are interested: https://sites.google.com/site/astraeslocke/
